students need additional support, professional counseling is available
through the hospital.

are taught the skills necessary for writing professional resumes and
for participating in successful interviews.

held yearly with nurses from various disciplines to describe their
roles and responsibilities.
- Information on employment opportunities
at AMH is provided by the AMH Department of Nursing, the Nurse Recruiter,
the Human Resources Department,
and the Hospital’s website.
- A BSN completion college fair is
offered to inform students of requirements and opportunities for
continuing education.

through Immaculata College and LaSalle University for completion
of the BSN and MSN degrees.
Orientation Program
Orientation is offered prior to the beginning of classes for both the
Day and Evening/Weekend Options to welcome new students to the Dixon
School of Nursing. The program will familiarize students with the resources
and services available to them, and to introduce them to the program
of study.

Social activities are planned throughout the year and may include luncheons,
parties and picnics. Shopping malls and restaurants are located near
the school.
Center-City Philadelphia provides the finest in theater,
music, the arts, restaurants, shopping, and sports events. Only a short

their own medical insurance and for meeting medical costs should
they
occur.
