| LPN bridge to RN at AMH Dixon
I am a Licensed Practical Nurse looking to be
a Registered Nurse.

LPN Distinction
LPN applications are treated in the same fashion as the applications
of transfer students. The only disctinction for LPNs who have at least
1000 hours of work experience is that once accepted into the program,
they have the opportunity to take a challenge exam to place out of the
required course Nursing 101 Foundations of Nursing and N-301 Nursing
Care of the Family. Students may not take this challenge test
unless they are accepted into the program and are LPNs with 1000 hours
of work experience.
Admission Policy
The Admissions Committee, representing the Faculty of the School of
Nursing, selects qualified applicants who satisfy the admission criteria
and demonstrate the capability of completing the program and becoming
registered nurses. The number of students accepted is determined by
the committee based on variables, which include the availability of
adequate clinical facilities and the faculty to student ratio. Applications
are considered on an individual basis. Written notice of the committee’s
decision will be mailed after the decision date.
Application/Acceptance
Fees
When filing an application for admission to the School of Nursing, each
applicant pays an application fee. A check or money order made payable
to the Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing should be
forwarded with the completed application. No refund is made after the
application is filed. An acceptance fee is required after notification
of acceptance in order to reserve a place in the class.
