Ms. Calamia is the Coordinator of Student Support Services and Special Initiatives. She serves on a variety of school and hospital committees. She is the chair of the Advisement & Counseling and the Nursing Initiative Scholars Selection Committees.

Professional Awards and Recognition
Ms. Calamia's professional career has been dedicated to serving individuals and groups as an educator, advisor and counselor. She has contributed to the production of many promotional materials both as a writer and editor. A recent endeavor is her work in the field of college/career coaching, where she especially enjoys working with adults learners, helping them to reinvent themselves through new vocational and advocational pursuits.

Personal Interests
Ms. Calamia loves spending time with her family and enjoys walking and listening to classical music. She is a member of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Hospital Schools of Nursing Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. She is the group’s coordinator for regional meetings; these meeting are hosted an Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing. She is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

Nursing Education As A Career
Ms. Calamia chose a career in nursing education because she wants to make a difference in the lives of the students. She enjoys the diversity in the students who choose nursing as a career choice. She welcomes the day to day involvement with the students and her role in assisting them reach their goals.

"Caring with Confidence"
When an educator or mentor displays genuine concern for students and a desire for them to be successful, that type of caring becomes infectious. The students are able to grow in their own confidence levels and in turn display the same caring approach to those they serve. Her favorite quote is "the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams...Eleanor Roosevelt."
