Role At Dixon
Marion Chayes is the Director of the Health Science Library at Abington
Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing. She coordinates and implements
all the library services. She is a member of the curriculum and faculty
organization committees at Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of
Nursing.

Professional Experience
Ms. Chayes was the president of the Philadelphia Chapter Medical Library
Association. She is the coordinator of the Delaware Valley Information
Consortium, which includes forty area libraries. She is also the coordinator
of Basic Health Sciences Library Consortium, which includes six states
and five hundred libraries.
Professional Recognition
and Awards
Ms. Chayes received the chapter achievement award for the Medical Library
Association. She was named the Medical Librarian of the Year; she is
a National Library Ambassador at Abington Memorial Hospital. In 2001,
she was a nominee for the Abington Memorial Hospital Gold Standard Award.
Personal Interests:
She enjoys golfing.
Nursing Education As A
Career
Marion Chayes selected a career in nursing education because she liked
the opportunity to serve in a service-oriented field. She enjoys the
interaction with students and assisting them with their research needs.
