Anita Fennessey is a faculty member and clinical instructor at Abington
Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing. She teaches N101: Foundations
In Nursing and N202: Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing II. She is a member
of the Faculty Organization, Curriculum, and Nutrition Committees.

Professional Experience
Ms. Fennessey had experience in many areas of nursing prior to instructing
at Dixon. She has extensive critical care nursing experience. She worked
with both hemo-dialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients for over ten
years; she was also a renal nurse educator.
Professional Awards and
Recognition
She wrote an article entitled, "Medical-Surgical Nurses’
Utilization of Research Methods and Products." This article was
a collaboration with other RN’s and was presented in MEDSURG Nursing
(1994, Vol.3, No. 2).
Personal Interests
Her personal interests include exercise and aerobics. She is a member
of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Nursing Education As A
Career
Anita Fennessey chose nursing as a career because she enjoys taking
care of people and helping them improve their health. She chose to be
a nurse educator because she loves watching and helping students grow
from novice student nurses to professional registered nurses. She enjoys
all aspects of her role in helping students and watching them develop
their nursing skills.
